Montek is a Partner and Practice Head for Asia and the Middle East at Osborne Partners, based in Dubai and New Delhi.

Prior to joining Osborne Partners, Montek was a Senior Managing Director in FTI Consulting's Economic and Financial Consulting segment. Whilst there, he was also responsible for founding and leading FTI's Economic and Financial Consulting practice in India. He previously served on the board of a joint venture with Intel Capital in the field of robotic surgeries in India and also served as the interim CEO for a major travel services company.

Montek's primary area of focus is the assessment of damages and valuation of businesses, assets and shares in the context of intellectual property disputes; M&A, shareholder and joint venture disputes; private equity investments; investment treaty claims; and other contractual claims. With significant experience in spectrum auctions and market, financial and economic analysis, research and study, he has developed and designed a number of quantitative models to value and forecast different aspects of businesses.

His industry experience encompasses energy and power products, consumer and branded goods, real estate, hospitality, industrial gases, oil and gas, mining, petrochemicals, diversified and industrial materials, TMT, financial services, travel, and aviation, among others.

Montek has been appointed as an expert in domestic and international arbitrations and in competition matters on over 100 occasions, across many jurisdictions. He has testified before tribunals 50 times since 2017 on claims ranging from USD 5 million to over USD 2.0 billion and has worked on over 100 expert matters. Montek was recognised as a Global Elite Thought Leader in Who’s Who Legal’s Arbitration Review (Expert Witnesses) for 2021 to 2026. Less than 30 practitioners globally are featured in this listing having had the highest number of nominations from peers, corporate counsel, and other market sources.


Montek has also been identified by The International Who's Who of Commercial Arbitration as one of the leading global expert witnesses from 2017 to 2024. He was further listed as a Thought Leader – Expert Witness in Lexology’s inaugural list (2019) and all subsequent lists in this category for India. Montek was also listed in the Lexology ‘Consulting Experts Guide’, 2016 to 2024, in the field of ‘Quantum of Damages’.


He is the Young International Arbitration Group (YIAG) Regional Representative for the term September 2025 to September 2027.

Montek has a BA in Mathematics and Computer Science from Colgate University and is a CFA and CVA Charterholder. He was recently awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration and Finance Management (approved by the Government of India) for his work and contributions to the fields of corporate finance, economics, and business.
